‘Tis Christmas…

It’s not just another year gone by but another time to pause in our busy lives to give thanks for the one and only living God, even Jesus Christ, that has given each of us so very much…

  • The sun to keep us warm,
  • The earth to live on,
  • The moon to shine through the night,
  • Knowledge to make us stronger,
  • Families to get us through the rough spots in the road,
  • Stars that allow us to look up and marvel at the sights,
  • Clouds that turn into bursts of fresh water to nurture the earth, animals, and people,
  • Rainbows that tell us the world will not be destroyed by another flood,
  • Trees to give shade and food,
  • Grasses to allow us to look upon the fields and admire her beauty,
  • Lakes and oceans to give endless supplies of fun, food, travel, and beauty,
  • Oil and gas to power our way into the future, and
  • The only begotten Son of God, even Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of the world, and guarantee eternal life!

Yes, God is a wonderful God that loves us very much and continues to give to all of His children as He sees fit.

As we go through this festive season, let’s all try to remember our responsibilities toward one another (By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-36)… why we are on this earth (And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon (Satan); and the dragon fought and his (Satan’s followers or fallen Angels) angels, Revelation 12:6-8) or as we know it as the war between Satan and Jesus Christ… and what God expects from all of us in living within a Christ centered life (Casting down imaginations (false doctrines), and every high thing (false teachers) that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:4-6… And that ye study, to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 1 Thessalonians 4:10-12).

And she (Mary) brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes (the cloth used during those days to prepare bodies for their funeral), and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:6-8

Luke 2:15-17 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them about this child.

Matthew 2:9-11 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

The many millions of dollars in gifts provided to Joseph, Mary, and Jesus would allow them to become great leaders of the world.

Secular history teaches us that Joseph went on to become the largest Carpenter known to the world (in today’s American vernacular this term would be a General Contractor). His specialty was building ports all over the world to generate greater commerce opportunities and allow business opportunities to spread to all people from all lifestyles.

Joseph expanded his career immediately after the Christ Child was born and built homes where his work would take Mary and their Son. Joseph provided the finest and best of what his wealth could give for his family. They were always at the highest levels of wealthy societies and prominence within the cities where their homes were located.

This escalation of wealth and prominence soon forced many government rulers to feel threatened since Joseph, his company, and his family was not beholden to any government leader for their success and wealth.

Government leaders had worked hard to convince and rule the masses with an iron fist. Legislators were successful at convincing the masses the only way they could succeed and have any sustenance would be from government – not personal work ethics.

Suddenly, legislators found themselves up against something they had never met – free enterprise. Joseph and his family never needed any government to help them succeed. Whereas legislators were busy teaching the masses that government was the only solution to success.

Preferring to destroy Joseph, legislators linked together in a scheme to destroy Joseph’s family and kill the Son of God that was busy teaching the masses about God’s wisdom. Legislators had never been up against a force as strong as Christianity and they had no idea how to deal with it and continue to make people dependent upon them – not God.

Today, we know the rest of the story. Government leaders were successful in forcing Joseph to take alternate courses to continue his business and the only begotten Son of God was nailed to a cross, similar to a common criminal, and mocked by government officials and followers as the enemy to government.

Even though the governments used false charges to get their way and murder Jesus Christ, we find millions of people still pausing every December 25th to remember God’s great works and to worship His Son who died for you and me so we would have eternal life. That eternal life is still available for everyone today – not just for a special few.

You can have eternal life right where you sit, now, by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. There are no isles to walk, baptisms to attend, or buildings to enter. The gift is free and it is for anyone willing to ask.

Ephesians 2: 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
